About me

My name is Dave and I have a Physics PhD specializing in thin film characterization, lasers and nonlinear optics. After 10+ years in industry and academia working with multiple thin film design tools, I have seen how great single-seat design tools do not scale to larger teams with more complicated workflows; this leaves the designer ends up supporting the whole workflow through production.

Using my experience as both a scientist and a software engineer, I set out to build a better tool that integrates the design, review, and manufacturing process into a single workflow to empower designers, process engineers, tool operators, systems engineers, and integrators.

Thin Film Forge is a SaaS built around the core thin film optics model and integrates the workflow of the designer, process engineer and tool operator. No more Excel files, no more digging around on network drives, no licensing headaches, and no fights with IT. We built a system that automates handoffs to give you more time to focus on the engineering and work your magic!
