Who qualifies for education pricing?
Students, teaching staff and academic researchers with a verified institutional email (.edu, .ac.*), for
non-commercial teaching and research. Sign in with your institutional address to buy Student or Lab at checkout, or
email dave@thinfilmforge.com from it and
we will set it up for you.
Who counts toward the 5 researchers on Lab?
The named researchers who create and edit designs: the buyer holds one seat and assigns the other four by email in
the app (Settings › Account). Advisors, reviewers and collaborators who only read and comment use free collaborator
seats. For a bigger group, email us.
How do I get the 6 months free for a paper?

link to the accepted or published paper or proceeding that used Thin Film Forge, and we add 6 months to your plan.
Why no needle, synthesis or global optimization?
They run for minutes on our servers. Local optimization covers coursework and most thesis designs; for the
heavy optimizers, Pro or Team has them.
What about research done with a company?
Funded work for a company, and anything you sell, is commercial use: it needs Pro or Team.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, once. Within 30 days of buying, ask for a refund in the app under Settings › Account › Request a refund. Your
saved designs stay in your account, read-only, and any plan unlocks them again.
